Privacy Policy

2. The app collects nothing

minimalVNC contains no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting, and no accounts. The app makes no network connections except the VNC connections you explicitly initiate. Specifically:

• Favourites are stored only on your Mac, inside the app's sandbox.
• Passwords are stored only in your macOS Keychain.
• Screen content, keystrokes and clipboard data travel directly between your Mac and the VNC server you connect to. Nothing passes through our servers — we do not operate any for the app.
• Purchases (minimalVNC Pro) are processed entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details and no identity data — only anonymous, aggregated sales figures. See Apple's privacy policy.

3. Website: server logs

This website is hosted on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany — an EU processor). When you visit, the web server processes your IP address, the requested URL, timestamp, and browser user-agent in transient access logs, on the legal basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest: operating and securing the site). Logs are not used to profile you and are deleted on rotation.

The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.); your browser transmits your IP address to Google when fetching them (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Contact form

If you use the contact form, we process the data you enter — name, e-mail address, and your message — solely to handle your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual communication) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering enquiries). The message is delivered to us by Resend, Inc. (2261 Market Street, San Francisco, CA, USA) acting as our processor; transfers to the US are safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the conversation and any legal retention duties, then deleted. Your data is never used for marketing and never shared beyond this.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Wien, dsb.gv.at) or your local supervisory authority. To exercise any right, write to the address in section 1 or use the contact form.

6. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with an updated effective date. Since neither the app nor the site holds accounts, we have no way — and no wish — to notify you individually.
